چکیده

Bradykinin, Arg-Pro-Pro-Gly-Phe-Ser-Pro-Phe-Arg, is released from bradykininogen by the action of kallikreins and brings about smooth muscle stimulation, vasodilation, increase in capillary permeability, ac cumulation and migration of leucocytes and pain production. It is well known that so-called kininase, for example catheptic carboxypeptidase B and carboxypeptidase N, destroy bradykinin by cleaving the peptide bond of the nonapeptide, producing pharmacologically inert peptides (1, 2). However, there is a posibility

Absence of the pain-producing activity of otherwise biologically active synthetic fragments of bradykinin.

vity was investigated in conscious dogs by use of their vocalization as a measure of nociception. The three fragments were reported to be capable of producing edema in the rat paw and contraction of the guinea-pig isolated ileum. The three fragments and bradykinin were injected into the femoral and the superior mesen teric artery through a chronically indwelling catheter. Whenever given into ei...

Over Expression of Biologically Active Interferon Beta Using Synthetic Gene in E. coli

In this study, our previously reported novel synthetic gene encoding 166 residues of interferon-? was used for an efficient expression of IFN-?. The synthetic gene was cloned into pET21a expression vector and transferred into E. coli. Recombinant protein was over-expressed in the E. coli. Identity of the recombinant protein was confirmed by western blot analysis. The recombinant protein was bio...

Influence of Natural Sources of Biologically Active Substances on Livestock and Poultry Reproduction

Synthetic hormones and bioactive substances (vitamins, pigments and isoflavons) which have been used in the feed industry are accumulated in milk, meat and eggs. It is suspected that these are responsible for a number of side-effects such as carcinogenesis, liver and kidney damage, allergies in consumers. Furthermore the synthetic hormones, vitamins, pigments are less active than those extracte...

Anaphylactic release of a prekallikrein activator from human lung in vitro.

We have demonstrated the in vitro IgE-mediated release of a prekallikrein activator from human lung. The lung prekallikrein activator was partially purified by sequential chromatography on sulfopropyl-Sephadex, DEAE-Sephacel, and Sepharose 6B. Purified human prekallikrein was converted to its active form (kallikrein) by the lung protease. The generated kallikrein was shown to be biologically ac...

Susceptibility of a peptide derived from bradykinin to hydrolysis by brain endo-oligopeptidases and pancreatic proteinases.

The property of brain endopeptidases of attacking small biologically active polypeptides but not denatured proteins led us to compare them with pancreatic proteolytic enzymes with respect to hydrolysis of a synthetic peptide derived from bradykinin (Gly-Gly-Gly-Arg-bradykinin), free, bound to Affi-Gel 10, or bound to succinylated polylysine of 3,000 and 180,000 daltons, respectively. The data s...
